I’m Ruben, a software developer since 2009, specializing in mobile development since 2014.
Over the years, I’ve worked across native and cross-platform mobile technologies, building applications with .NET for iOS and Android, Xamarin, .NET MAUI, Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform.
This blog is where I document what I learn while building, maintaining and evolving real-world applications. I write about mobile architecture, platform-specific development, migrations, integrations, debugging, tooling and the kind of problems that rarely fit into a simple code snippet.
My goal is to focus on practical engineering: not just how something works, but why certain approaches work, where they fail, and what I’ve learned from implementing them in real projects.
rfsouto.com also serves as a record of my work and technical evolution — from years of Xamarin and native mobile development to the current .NET, Swift and Kotlin ecosystems.
If you’re dealing with similar challenges, I hope you find something here that saves you some time.
Happy coding!

¡Happy coding!
